CABLEVISION AND MAYOR SHARP JAMES TO PRESENT C-SPAN'S "CAMPAIGN CAM" AWARDS TO WINNING RAFAEL HERNANDEZ SCHOOL STUDENTS THURSDAY, JUNE 17
WHAT
Awards for winning video exploring current campaign issues will be presented to eighth graders Nyreen Sequinot, Linda Hutchins and Vanessa Rodriguez at the Rafael Hernandez School in Newark, who won the first place middle school award for their video, "Teens on AIDS." High school and middle school students from across the country took part in this educational C-SPAN contest by identifying a current campaign issue and producing a video analyzing the issue while persuasively presenting their point of view on the topic. Notable attendees at this event are expected to include Mayor Sharp James, Newark Superintendent of Public Schools, Marion Bolden, Newark City Councilmembers Hector Corchado, Luis Quintana, Bessie Walker and Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkinsand and Adam Falk, Cablevision's regional vice president for New Jersey public affairs.
