CABLEVISION'S POWER TO LEARN AND MAYOR DAVID ROBERTS TEAM UP TO KEEP KIDS SAFE IN CYBERSPACE

Special Event To Educate Parents, Students and Teachers on Safe Online Behavior
April 21 at Joseph F. Brandt Middle School

Hoboken, NJ - April 18, 2005 - Cablevision Systems Corporation's Power to Learn, a multi-faceted initiative dedicated to integrating technology into education, will host an interactive, educational event with Mayor David Roberts on safe and responsible Internet use for children. The event will take place at Joseph F. Brandt Middle School in Hoboken on April 21, at 1:30 p.m.

"Internet safety is an issue faced by all parents. It is important that children have a rewarding online experience without the hazards faced by all of us on the Internet. This partnership with Cablevision goes a long way to meet this challenge," said Mayor Roberts.

Power to Learn's Internet Smarts program provides a forum for teachers and parents to work with children on appropriate and safe Internet use. Online, interactive case studies explore important topics in Internet use at school and at home, allowing students to examine issues affecting schoolwork, class papers, entertainment activities and online safety. Additionally, students, classes and schools can become certified "Internet Smart." Family resource booklets titled, "Internet Smarts: Safeguarding your Children in Cyberspace," are also provided, offering important tips and suggestions to keep kids safe online.

"As the ISP provider to more than 2,000 schools in Cablevision's service area, we know that the Internet is indispensable to education," said Trent Anderson, Cablevision's vice president of education. "We designed Internet Smarts to provide students with guidance and guidelines to be safe, responsible and ethical Internet users, and we are extremely excited and proud to be a part of this event."

Power to Learn, Cablevision's nationally recognized education initiative, empowers K-12 learning in the tri-state area by making technology in the classroom useful and by facilitating the home-school connection. Today, more than 2,100 schools and libraries throughout Cablevision's New York metropolitan service area receive high-speed Internet access and more than 85 percent of schools in Cablevision's service area receive free cable television service as a result of this initiative.
