Jim Lengel is a visiting professor at the Hunter College School of Education in New York, where he works on integrating technology into teaching and learning. He also develops educational projects for Apple Computer and other organizations. His previous work includes ten years as a professor at the College of Communication at Boston University, where his teaching and research on new media drew students from many disciplines. He worked as Education Technology Consultant for Apple Computer's Education Division from 1988 through 1994. He served as Vermont's Deputy Commissioner of Education from 1983 until 1988. Jim has taught students in elementary, high school, and college classrooms. His publications include Law in American History (1983), Using Computers in the Social Studies (1989), Kids, Computers and Homework (1995), Web Wizard's Guide to Web Design (2000), Web Wizard's Guide to Multimedia (2001), Web Wizard's Guide to Shockwave (2002), Web Wizard's Guide to Dreamweaver (2004) and Integrating Technology: A Practical Guide (2006). Jim has has delivered presentations on education and technology in 30 states and 10 countries, including at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Venezuelan Academy of Sciences, and l'Institut de l'Homme et de la Technologie in France.
