Led by school senior Samantha Free and following welcoming remarks by Senator Slossberg, 10th graders at Lauralton Hall presented guests with a three part lesson on the past, present and future of women in government, using the Triple Play for Education and Internet resources provided to the school by Power to Learn. The event concluded with a live Q&A session between students and Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz.

"Today's event demonstrates the dynamic impact that technology in the classroom can have on the learning process.  Thanks to Cablevision's Power to Learn and its commitment to help students commemorate Women's History Month, these students have gained a new appreciation for the role women have and will continue to play in shaping our government," said Senator Slossberg.

"I wish to commend the 10th graders at Lauralton Hall for their well-researched presentations and their insightful and through-provoking questions.  It is clear from the students' work today that their knowledge and interest in the contribution of women in government has greatly increased thanks to Cablevision and Power to Learn," commented Connecticut Secretary of State Bysiewicz.
