Connecticut - Children's Miracle Network Awarded With A Donation On Behalf of Students At Joseph A. Foran High School February 7, 2012
Milford, CT, February 7, 2012 - Power to Learn and State Representative Kim Rose recognized students at Joseph A. Foran High School for participating in this year's Charity Champions, a program from Power to Learn that promotes volunteerism and encourages area high schools to raise funds for a charity of their choice. The event was held prior to a basketball tournament with approximately 60 people present. At the event, Representative Rose recognized the students for their dedication to the charity and student advisor Amy Farotti discussed the school's involvement with Charity Champions. As part of their upcoming fundraising efforts, the students planned a "Pennies War" between high school classes during February and a bracelet sale in March. Established nationally in 1983, the Children's Miracle Network is committed to generating funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals that now number more than 170 nationwide.
