Hudson Valley - AP Students at Westlake High School Present Their Take on Financial Literacy to Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Joan Maybury June 7, 2011
Thornwood, NY, June 7, 2011 - Recognizing the importance of financial literacy, AP students at Westlake High School were joined by members of Cablevision's Power to Learn and Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Joan Maybury for a presentation on finance and economics. Following welcoming remarks by Town Supervisor Maybury, Principal Keith Schenker, Cablevision's Government Affairs Director Rob Hoch, Cablevision Power to Learn Sales/Relations Manager Martha Turner and AP Macroeconomics Teacher Anthony Paduano, 13 AP students made their presentations related to personal finance, discussing checking accounts, credit cards, and the importance of budgeting. "I applaud Cablevision's Power to Learn on a program that was informative in a most engaging way.
