Long Island - Harborfields High School Students Raise Funds and Awareness for World Vision to Win First Place as Charity Champions
May 19, 2011

Greenlawn, NY, May 19, 2011 - MSG Varsity and Cablevision's Power to Learn, along with Congressman Steve Israel, recognized students at Harborfields High School as First Place winners for their fundraising efforts and participation in Charity Champions, a program developed by Power to Learn that promotes volunteerism and encourages area high schools to raise funds for a charity.  The school was presented with $2,500 to be donated to World Vision, a global charity that helps transform local communities through child sponsorship, changing the world in which they live and fostering self-sufficiency within their communities.
