Long Island - The Arthritis Foundation Awarded With A Donation On Behalf of Students At Smithtown High School West
March 30, 2012


Smithtown, NY, March 30, 2012 - Power to Learn recognized students at Smithtown High School West for participating in this year's Charity Champions, a program from Power to Learn that promotes volunteerism and encourages area high schools to raise funds for a charity of their choice. At the event, student advisor Libby O'Brien spoke about their charity of choice and indicated the fund raising activities they've done so far, including Flag Football, Italian Ice sales, Movie Night and Game Night like the Bingo Event that evening.  

The school was presented with $1,000 to be donated to the Arthritis Foundation and also received $500 for the furtherance of the students' charitable activities.
