New Jersey - Knicks Groove Truck visits TG Connors Elementary School in Hoboken April 8, 2008
The Knicks Groove Truck visited the TG Connors Elementary School in Hoboken, NJ on April 8, 2008. The visit was a special prize given to the entire third grade on behalf of the students of Ms. Veronica Ramos and Ms. Gwendolyn Rodriguez third grade classes who participated in the Knicks Read to Achieve @powertolearn.com literacy program. Mayor David Roberts attended along with 4th Ward Councilmember Dawn Zimmer and Legislative Aide to Assemblyman Rueben Ramos, Rich DelBoccio. View Slide Show >> Following a brief speech by the Mayor, three third grade classes enjoyed a 90 minute visit with the Groove Truck. Students played basketball, competed in shooting contests against classmates and against their teachers (the kids won)! Ms. Ramos' class also received tickets to an upcoming NY Knicks game for winning the Read to Achieve "most-spirited" contest. The students won by demonstrating their creativity and enthusiasm while participating in Knicks Read to Achieve @powertolearn.com
