Cablevision's Power to Learn's Spanish-Language Internet Smarts program was unveiled on October 27, 2005 at the Bronx Kids Inc's second annual Halloween event at the Bronx Zoo with Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion (pictured at right). The event was held at the Dancing Crane Cafe. Attendees recieved complimentary admission to the zoo including a buffet dinner, raffles and dance performances. Parents and children were invited to view a Power to Learn video and Internet Smarts presentation. Internet Smarts booklets, case study parent guides and other information related to safe and appropriate Internet usage were provided at the event to parents and children. "Protecting children online is a growing concern among parents and I am very proud to see Cablevision expand its Internet Smarts program to serve the Spanish speaking members of our community," said Adolfo Carrion, Bronx Borough President. Internet Smarts is Power to Learn's signature public affairs program, which provides a forum for teachers and parents to work with children to understand which online behaviors and practices are safe and appropriate and which are not.
