New York City - LAMP Ministries Awarded With A Donation On Behalf of Students At Preston High School
March 2, 2012

Bronx, NY, March 2, 2012 - Power to Learn hosted a Charity Champions Check Presentation at Preston High School. The Compassion Connection club has come together to raise money for LAMP Ministries and Friday night held a Dance Marathon that brought 150 students out to participate. The students created a 'cardboard city'  in the fall which was one of their fundraising efforts and an attempt to create awareness about the local homeless community. It empowered them to understand the plight of the homeless.
LAMP Ministries is a local outreach program that has been in existence for 30 years. They work with the materially poor, offering food, clothing and support to those in need.
