New York City - Concourse House Awarded With A Donation On Behalf of Students At The Academy Of Mount St. Ursula

Bronx, NY, February 7, 2012 - Power to Learn recognized students at the Academy of Mount St. Ursula for participating in this year's Charity Champions, a program from Power to Learn that promotes volunteerism and encourages area high schools to raise funds for a charity of their choice. The event took place during the Honor's Assembly. At the event, Power to Learn's School Relations Manager Tricia Kaminski recognized the students for their dedication to the charity and Student Advisor/"That's Life" Moderator, Christina Canty, discussed the school's involvement with Charity Champions. The girls have been actively engaged with Concourse House for several years and they often do volunteers service there. Concourse House provides support and holistic help to women who are experiencing difficulty in their lives. There are many ways that a donation can make a difference there.

The school was presented with $1,000 to be donated to Concourse House. Manuella Schoudt, on behalf of Concourse House, accepted the donation and said a few words of gratitude. The school also received $500 for the furtherance of the students' charitable activities.
