Optimum West - Student at Fruita Monument High School Wins Third Prize In C-SPAN's StudentCam 2012 Competition
April 23, 2012

Fruita, CO, April 23, 2012 - Optimum brought the C-SPAN Campaign 2012 Bus to Fruita Monument High School to honor a local student winner in C-SPAN's StudentCam 2012 competition. While in Fruita, the Campaign bus made stops at three additional schools on its "Road to the White House" tour, named after C-SPAN's signature political program. StudentCam is an annual documentary competition that encourages students to create short films about political and public policy matters. This year's theme - "The Constitution and You" - asked middle and high school students to select any provision of the U.S. Constitution and illustrate why it is important to them.

Vinny Castellini, a student at Fruita Monument High School, was among the top 75 StudentCam winners, out of a total of 1,203 entries submitted from 43 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. His award-winning video, entitled  "In God We Trust? Religion's Role in America" and garnered him 3rd prize, aired on April 4, 2012 on C-SPAN and can be found in the C-SPAN Video Library here: http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/304716-4.  Castellini was awarded $750 in prize money from C-SPAN and representatives from Optimum presented him with an iPod.
