Detective Rory Forrestal Suffolk County Police Department
Detective Rory Forrestal has been with the Suffolk County Police Dept. for 20 years and with the Computer Crimes Unit since 1999. He has been a Detective for 16 years. After tours in Narcotics and General Service he was recruited to the fledgling Computer Crimes Unit in 1999. Since that time he has been involved in numerous cases involving the Internet and Exploited Children’s Mission. A graduate of St Joseph’s College with a B.S. in Business Management he was the Suffolk County Police Department’s Detective of the year for 1998, recipient of the Suffolk County Detectives Association Hawkins Award for investigative excellence 1998, Parents For Megan Law Champion for Children Award 2004 and USDOJ Prosecutors Award 2005. Detective Forrestal teaches Computer Crimes at the Suffolk County Police Academy and has been a guest lecturer and speaker for numerous schools, parent, and professional organizations throughout the Metro area.
