We are currently accepting applications for the
2010-11 New York Rangers Math MVP's program.

Designed for fifth and sixth grade math students, the Rangers Math MVP program provides standards-based math curriculum in 3 multi-lesson units to reinforce concepts being covered in the classroom in a fun and accessible way.

Participating Classes receive:

  • Rangers items such as pens, magnets, rulers, etc. to reward student math achievement
  • Opportunities for visits from the NY Rangers Road Tour
  • end of the year in-class celebration

"NY Rangers Math M.V.P.s @ powertolearn.com" program works as follows.

  • Selected schools choose fifth and sixth grade classes to participate and provide the teachers names and contact information.
  • Power to Learn will send a NY Rangers Math M.V.P.s @ powertolearn.com Zone banner for each teacher to hang in his or her classroom.
  • Power to Learn will create an online page at www.powertolearn.com for each participating class. Pages will include class photos, student work and all forms related to the program.

Program requirements

  • teacher provides a few administrative items (permissions, class photo)
  • teacher implements 2-3 lesson plans from one unit per progress period. Units include Logic, Travel and Graphing and can be implemented in any order. Teacher can also elect to replace a unit with their own activity or utilize enrichment ideas provided by the program
  • teacher provides a one paragraph progress report describing the implementation of the unit per progress period (each progress period is approximately 2 months long).

Program runs from approximately November through April.

There is no cost for program participation.
