Backgrounder - Written by the Public Relations Department, a backgrounder tells a brief history of a person, group of people (such as the Rockettes), a place (such as the Music Hall) or an event such as the Christmas Spectacular.

Box Office - There are two definitions for Box Office. One is the booth from which you buy tickets. The other is a theater term used for the sale of tickets and money collected. For example, you might hear someone say, "The box office for the show was above expectations."

Cues - Offstage signals for performers.

Group Sales - The selling of tickets at a reduced price to a large group of people.

Guest Relations - The department, or individuals, who are in charge of helping visitor with any problems that they have while at the theater.

Historic Landmark - A building designated by the United States government as a nationally significant historic place because it possesses exceptional value or quality in illustrating the history of the nation.

Intellectual Property - Written or creative material, such as books, articles and songs are considered intellectual properties and usually protected legally by a copyright, which prevents the material from being stolen or used without permission of the author.

Media Kits - A package sent to the media (TV stations, newspapers, radio stations, etc.) by the Public Relations Department that includes the latest press releases, biographies of key people, photos and other materials that help the media a write stories.

Media Outlet - A term used for each specific TV station, newspaper, radio station, etc. They are all media outlets.

Media Plan - A plan that includes all of the media outlets, how and when they will be contacted and the time and date advertisements will run.

National Touring Company - A company of performers that takes a show, like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, on the road to various cities around the country.

Off-Broadway - A term used for shows that are performed in smaller New York City theaters. A very successful Off-Broadway Show may make it onto Broadway.

Photo Shoots - Specific photo opportunities that are arranged in advance.

Press Conferences - Question and answer meetings arranged between key people involved in the show and members of the press.

Revenue - The money that is being brought into the business, which in this case is Radio City Entertainment.

Rockettes - The famous dance troupe that have been around since the 1930s and are featured at Radio City special events. They are known for forming a long line and doing precision high-kicks.

Stage Door Tours - Tours that take visitors backstage at Radio City Music Hall and showcase much of the Music Hall's long history.

Venues - Arenas or places where performances are held.

VIPS - Very Important People or special guests.
