The 6-1, 194-pound goalie has posted an astounding 24-7-6 record and is on pace to shatter the Rangers rookie record for wins (29). Through 56 team games, he leads all rookie goaltenders in wins (24), games played (39), saves (1019), save percentage (.927), time on ice (2,299:12), and is currently tied for second in shutouts (2). While playing in the Swedish Elite League, he helped capture two league championships with the Frolunda Indians and was named to the Swedish Media All-Star team three consecutive years (2002-2005). He has previously represented Sweden at the 2004 World Championships, leading his team to a Silver medal. He also played for Team Sweden at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and at the 2003 and 2005 World Championships. In 2005, he was voted onto the “best dressed” list in Sweden, where he has played guitar in a band.

30 - Henrik Lundqvist

Hank, How are you? Quick question. Was making the transition to the NHL and becoming the number 1 starter a difficult thing for you? Keep up the good work. Let's Go Rangers - Marvin, New Jersey
Having a great goaltending coach - Benoit Allaire, really helped my transition. The rink here is a different size (smaller), so there was an adjustment period.

Are you rested enough after all the games you played so far this season with the Rangers to help win the gold for Team Sweden. What do think your chances are? - Darryl, New Jersey
Last year with my own team and the national team, I played 75 or 80 games so I am used to the work. I love playing a lot and I feel good right now. A little tired, having just gotten home, but I am looking forward to getting back in goal for the Rangers and hopefully having a long playoff run.

Who is the player you have the hardest time stopping? - Brendan, 3rd Grader, Long Island
I don't really look at the shooters as individuals, so I don't always know exactly who it is. I really just focus and concentrate on stopping whoever it is. I know for sure it's not Kaspar!

Do you like playing against your own teammates in the Olympics? - William, 2nd Grader, Long Island
It's easier for me as a goalie. For the position players, it's much harder, battling against each other. It's nice now to be back in New York and all be together again.

How does it feel to be going ahead of the leading scorer and also your teammate,Jamomir Jagr? - Oliver, 9th Grader, New York City
Not sure I am going ahead of him. If you mean head - to - head - it's not fun! I do it regularly in practice and it's definitley no fun!

How does it feel to be the top team in the Eastarn Conferince? And do you feel that you had a huge role in there success? How do you feel about going against your own teammates? - Jason, 7th Grader, New York City
It's great, but we still have more to do. We have 24 games left and we want to have a great spring. I think we are all seeing how great it can be to win here and we are all hoping we can do something special for the fans here.

How does it feel to be in the medal round v.s. the 6-0 Finland? - Danny, 6th Grader, New York City
They were a very hard team to play against. They worked very hard and didn't give us a lot. Of course they have great offensive players too that were hard to stop. I'm glad we were able to come away with the win!

Congrats on the GOLD! How does it feel to be a NY Ranger? Will see ya play 0n 3/18 vs Tor. You're the best. - Steven, New York City
Thank you. It is an incredible feeling. I can't wait though to get back and start playing for the Rangers again. We are looking forward to making the playoffs and having a great spring.

Do have any advice for someone my age getting into hockey? By the way, congratulations, and GO RANGERS! - Shaun, 7th Grader, New York City
Just to have fun and enjoy playing. Thank you for cheering for us!
