After the Storm

After the Storm is the result of a partnership between The Weather Channel and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This program, part of the Forecast Earth series on The Weather Channel, examines watersheds and the importance of protecting them, particularly from polluted runoff. The program highlights three case studies where polluted runoff threatens highly valued watersheds in
  • Santa Monica Bay,
  • The Mississippi River Basin/Gulf of Mexico, and
  • New York City
Key scientists, water quality experts, and citizens involved in local and national watershed protection efforts provide insight into the problems as well as solutions to today's water quality crisis.

The program has been divided into the following four sections, and when used in conjunction with the lesson plans provided in the Teachers section of www.weatherclassroom.com, is an engaging and informative way to educate your students on the importance of watershed protection, conservation, and environmental consideration.
