Part 1 - 40 multiple choice questions
Part 2 - 10 open response questions
Time - 90 minutes total
Objectives
- Engineering Design (20%)
- Tools, Resources, and Technological Processes (25%)
- Computer Technology (20%)
- Technological Systems (10%)
- History, Evolution of Technology (10%)
- Impact of Technology (5%)
- Management of Technology (10%)
As you can see, no one category stands out, and every content strand contains a huge amount of knowledge. For example, the History and Evolution of Technology could be a 1,100 page book, and yet it accounts for only 10 percent of the test.
Trying to study each of these categories would take a great deal of time, and you still might not learn all the facts required to answer all the questions. Instead, I suggest applying the test-taking strategies you have already learned - pacing, the two-pass system - along with a healthy dose of common sense. Together, that should get you through the Technology test with a decent score.
