Mister/Madam President is an activity for high school students to demonstrate the commitment involved in running for the Presidency. It begins with "Making the Decision to Run," and steps students through each phase of a campaign, including primaries, speeches, and waiting for the election returns.

Test your knowledge of U.S. Presidents and the electoral process for fun and to earn a prize from Power To Learn and C-SPAN.

Ice Cream Day helps students understand voting and elections using terms and situations they can relate to. Students can role-play several scenarios where the mayor, the city staff, or the whole population votes to choose an ice cream flavor to be served for the town holiday, Ice Cream Day. Older students can include issues such as women's rights and emancipation in their scenarios.

This activity for high school students introduces them to the idea of demonstrations around an issue and how they can affect a campaign.

Do your students know what happens if no candidate receives a majority of votes in the electoral college? After this activity, they will.
