The House Decides
Extra! Extra!
Nader and the Greens Send Election to the House!
AP-Newswire
In a stunning victory, Ralph Nader has managed to win the states of California, Washington, and Oregon. His strong environmental record gave him just enough votes to win a victory in those states. The Bush and Gore campaigns were stunned by this development and have been scrambling for the upcoming House election. The Bush campaign, with 246 votes, claims it has the more legitimate claim to the presidency. The Gore campaign has countered that the majority of electoral votes are for candidates with a liberal slant, and as such Gore would represent the nation better. The Nader camp argues that it represents the country over corporate interests and claims it is most qualified to run the country. Delegations from the House of Representatives are hurrying back to the capital to decide who will be the next President. The House members will vote by state with each state getting one vote. Not since 1824, when the House elected John Quincy Adams as President, has this occurred. Deliberations will begin tomorrow as soon as the three candidates and the House delegations arrive in Washington DC.
