QUIZ DIRECTIONSIn order to become President, a candidate must earn 270 out of a possible 538 votes in the electoral college. In our quiz, you answer a question to earn the electoral college votes for each state. If you earn 270 of the possible 538 electoral college votes, you're smart enough to be the President. But since a quiz can't actually make you President, you can earn a prize from Cablevision instead.
Print out the scoring form. It lists two states on each line. Questions for these two states will be provided on the same day. Use the last column for a daily running total. You may want to track your progress and that of your classmates on the board as your "election returns" come in.
Each day check Power to Learn for two new questions for two states. If you get a question right, you earn that state's electoral votes. If you answer incorrectly, give yourself a zero for that state.
Depending on when you start the quiz, you may not start with the top row on the form. Don't worry. The questions will cycle around to those states again.
When you've earned enough electoral college votes to win the Presidency, fax the form to 516-393-0994 to receive your prize. Forms must be received by November 19, 2000 to be eligible.
