Did you show your Ranger teammates your gold medal? - Kyle, 4th grader, LI
Yes. I brought the medal to our first game back when we played the New Jersey Devils. Everyone was really impressed and congratulated me on the victory.

Do you play or watch any other sports? - Terrance, 4th grade, LI
I watch all the other sports, particularly baseball and golf. My favorite sport other than hockey is golf and I play as much as possible during the off-season.

Have you ever played roller hockey? - Steven, 3rd grader, LI
I play roller hockey with the kids that attend my summer hockey school, but that's about it. It's a great way to get used to the feel of regular ice skates and keeps you in good shape.

Does the ribbon that holds the Gold metal have any writing on it? - Joe, 4th grader, LI
Yes. It says "2002 Winter Olympic Games - Salt Lake City, Utah" and "Light The Fire Within", which was the slogan of the games.

Is a Gold medal heavy? - Tommy, 4th grader, LI
For a small medallion, it is pretty heavy. The people in Salt Lake did a nice job with the design of the medals - they look pretty cool.

Is the Gold medal really made of pure gold? - Steven, 4th grader, LI
I'm not sure, but it sure looks like real gold and that's all that matters.

If the Olympic team had alternates did they win Gold medals as well even though they didn't play? - Terri, 4th grader, LI
Just the players on the active team roster received gold medals.

Since hockey is Canada's national sport, do you think that anything other then a gold medal is a disappointment to the Canadian fans? - LUC, 12th grader, LI
Canada hasn't won the gold in quite sometime. We are all focused on only one thing and that is winning the gold medal. We'll be disappointed in ourselves if we don't accomplish what we set out to do.
