Colds
Why do we get sick more often in Winter? How can I avoid catching a cold?

Answer:
Although it's called a "cold," the illness you have when you're sneezing and coughing isn't from the cold weather. Like many things that can make you sick, it's caused by a germ you catch from someone else who is sick or from something they've touched. More people get colds and the flu, and more often, in the Winter because we're inside with other people who have colds and the flu. The cold air might make our bodies less prepared to fight off the germs, but it isn't why we get sick. To prevent catching a cold or the flu, avoid people who are sick and wash your hands regularly, especially before and after you touch your face, blow your nose, or eat.
